This is one up from their standard 10-year-old bottling, the 12 Year Old has two more years in the cask and is a step closer to the sherry-heavy older expressions. It's an excellent introduction to the Glenfarclas Distillery style - for those who enjoy a sherried whisky. To be consumed neat or with a drop of water. This whisky is a great accompaniment to smoked salmon or Iberico ham. Matured in 100% Oloroso Sherry casks.
Appearance: Deep golden honey yellow in colour.
Nose: Light and creamy with a mix of soft sherry and honey. Gentle and well-balanced, there are hints of smoke, rich oak, and a little pine resin.
Taste: Medium-bodied, with notes of date, walnut cake, sherry, earth and a touch of smoke.
Finish: Spicy and long, notes of allspice, cinnamon and cloves, with orange zest and sherry.
